Why a poster

The present that costs an evening, not a Saturday.

Most Christmas presents are bought under time pressure from a shortlist of things the person could have bought themselves. A poster of their own photos is the exception: it cannot be bought anywhere else, it does not need a size or a colour guessed, and the whole job takes about an hour on the sofa with a phone in your hand.

It also solves the hardest category on the list — parents and grandparents, who own everything and want nothing. What they actually want is evidence that the year happened and that they were in it. Eight photos of the grandchildren, printed properly and framed, does more work than anything in the €40 gift aisle.

The catch is the calendar. Every poster is printed when you order it, so December is the one month where the date you order matters more than the design you pick. The table below is the honest version of that.

The deadline

Order-by dates for Christmas 2026.

These are the last order dates for delivery before Christmas Eve on standard post. Each one already includes the 1–2 working days we spend printing, the shipping window for that route, and three working days of slack, because December post is slower than the rest of the year.

Route Order by Typical shipping
Within the EU Monday 7 December 5–7 working days
Within the US Tuesday 8 December 4–6 working days
Within Australia Wednesday 9 December 2–5 working days
Within the UK Friday 11 December 2–3 working days
Everywhere else Wednesday 25 November 10–15 working days

Your order is routed to the nearest of our print labs in the EU, the UK, the US, Australia or Canada, so most orders never cross a border — a Berlin order prints and posts in Europe. Framed posters can take a day longer, because the box is heavier and ships separately from rolled prints. The full windows per route are on the shipping FAQ.

Missed the date? Order anyway and print the confirmation email. A poster arriving on the 28th with a note saying what it is beats a panic-bought candle on the 24th.

Choosing the photos

How to pick the photos without spending the evening scrolling.

The layout is the easy decision. Choosing which photos go in it is where people stall, usually because they open the camera roll at the top and start swiping. Four rules that make it a twenty-minute job.

Start from people, not dates

Write down the four or five people the poster is about, then find one photo of each. Searching for a person is a decision you can actually make; searching a year is not.

One photo per event, maximum

Two photos of the same afternoon look like a mistake on a wall. Pick the better one and move on — the poster gains more from a different day than from a second angle.

Mix wide and close

A poster of eight portraits reads flat. Put in a room, a table, a landscape. The wide shots are what make the close ones feel like a story instead of a contact sheet.

Ignore the bad lighting rule

A slightly grainy photo of everyone laughing at the table beats a sharp photo of nobody doing anything. Print quality is our problem; you pick the moments.

Example posters

Three Christmas posters, three photo counts.

All three are real renders from our own family photos, made with the same editor you would use. Click any of them to start.

Which layout

Which layout for which person on the list.

Classic-3 — for the person who only ever sends you three good photos. Three photos, close together: the simplest thing to ask someone for and the easiest to get right.

Story of Five — for a trip, a wedding, a first year. A hero shot with four photos filling in the rest of the day.

The Eight — for grandparents. Eight photos balanced across the poster, with enough room for every grandchild and nobody stuck in the small corner.

Twelve Moments — for the year that just happened. Twelve photos, one per month. If you want the month names printed underneath, that is the year-in-photos version.

All four come in A4, A3, A2 and A1, and you can switch layout inside the editor without starting over, so picking wrong costs nothing.

A4 and smaller ships flat; larger sizes ship rolled in a tube with capped ends. If you would rather it be ready to hang on the day, add a real-wood frame in one of eight colours for €40 to €80 — it arrives assembled, glazed with shatter-resistant Perspex, with your poster already mounted and a fitting on the back. Sending it as a gift

Posting it to them, not to you.

Send it straight to them

Put their name and address in the delivery fields and yours in the contact field. The confirmation, the tracking link and the invoice come to you; the parcel goes to them. Outer packaging is plain — no branding, no windows to see through.

Nothing to sign up for

No account. Pay with iDEAL, Bancontact, card, PayPal or Klarna. VAT and shipping are already in the price, so the number in the cart is the number you pay.

Spotted a mistake?

Email [email protected] straight away. If the file has not reached the press we fix it, or cancel and refund in full. Once it is printing we cannot pull it back.

If it arrives damaged

Email us within 14 days of receipt with a photo of the damage and we reprint it free — the replacement ships within 2 working days. If a parcel goes missing, we chase the carrier and reprint.

Questions

Christmas questions

When do I need to order for delivery before Christmas?

Within the EU, order by Monday 7 December; within the US, Tuesday 8 December; within Australia, Wednesday 9 December; within the UK, Friday 11 December. Anywhere without a print lab nearby, order by Wednesday 25 November. Those dates already include the 1–2 working days we spend printing, plus a few days of slack for December post.

Can I have it sent straight to the person I am giving it to?

Yes. The delivery name and address at checkout are whoever the parcel should go to; the confirmation email, the tracking link and the invoice go to your email address. The outer packaging is plain — no branding and no peek-through windows.

How much does a Christmas photo poster cost?

A4 is €39.95, A3 €49.95, A2 €74.95 and A1 €99.95. VAT and worldwide shipping are included, so the number in the cart is the number you pay. A real-wood frame is an optional €40 to €80 depending on the size.

How many photos do I need?

Three at minimum, twenty at most. Three, five, eight and twelve are the layouts we print, and the editor snaps whatever you upload to the closest one. For Christmas, three good photos beat eight average ones.

What if the photos I have are not very good?

Any phone made in the last five years is sharp enough up to A2; A1 likes a bit more. We print at 300 DPI, so pixel count is what matters. The editor flags a photo whose resolution is limited for the size you picked, so you find out while you can still swap it or drop a size — not after it is printed.

What happens if it arrives damaged?

Email [email protected] within 14 days of receipt with the order email and a photo of the damage, and we reprint it free — a replacement ships within 2 working days. If a parcel goes missing entirely, we chase the carrier and reprint once it passes the window for its route.
