Printing & paper

Paper, ink, what a Giclée print actually is, and how long a Wando poster lasts on the wall.

What paper do you use?

Enhanced matte art paper, 200gsm. The same fine-art stock used by museums and small galleries. Slight tooth, no glare, a warm white that reads more "print" than "office".

What's a Giclée print?

"Giclée" is French for "sprayed ink". In practice it's an inkjet press with very fine nozzles and pigment-based archival inks. It's the printing method used for limited-edition fine-art reproductions. We print every Wando poster this way at 300 DPI.

How long will my poster last?

On a wall away from direct sunlight, 100 years or more, based on independent fade-testing of the inks and paper we use. In direct sun, much less — pigment ink resists fading well, but no print is sun-proof.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Close, not identical. Screens are backlit; paper is reflective. Bright, saturated areas on a phone screen always look a touch quieter on print. Skin tones, neutrals, and most photographs print faithfully. If you're worried about a specific print, email us before you order and we'll talk through it.

Where is my poster printed?

In Europe. The exact press depends on your delivery country — orders are routed to the nearest facility to keep shipping short and emissions low. Whichever it is, the paper, ink, and process are the same.

Can I print on the back of the poster?

Not at the moment. If you want to include text — a name, a date, a dedication — let us know what you have in mind and we'll think about it.
